For its 08/2006 edition, the "MOTORRAD" magazine has subjected 11 different pairs of bikers' boots to extensive wet tests. Only such bikers's boots as from the price class of up to 160 have been tested. The "big question" of the testers was: "Do proper touring boots have to cost around € 160, or will other ones for 60 also do? And in what is a model for almost 300 even better?" What was meant by the model for almost 300 was the Travel Star GTX from daytona^® (it costs 279.95). The testers' conclusion: "If you consider the expensive daytona Travel Star GTX, investing in it will pay. Compared with the middle-range boots, the Travel Star adds a bit on everything: It is absolutely water-tight, has a perfect fit and finish, offers maximum safety, is easiest to handle, and it gives you driving and walking convenience. However, being a top touring boot, it costs 280. To sum up: The 160 class offers a very good cost effectiveness. With considerably cheaper boots, you will have to be prepared to encounter massive losses in finish quality and convenience. Those who want to spend more money will really get a better equivalent."

10 watertight touring boots were tested by the motor bike magazine MO. Result: "A acquisition for life. Shoemaker Frey from Eggenfelden gave much competence to Travel Star GTX. A boot could not be better formed: absolutely comfortable to wear, strong hold in all positions and with all safety features.
