A family story full of Daytona enthusiasm

From scooters to R1s: a whole family rides (off) Daytona. I come from the north-eastern region of Italy, which is world-famous for its dense concentration of well-known and successful motorsport clothing and footwear manufacturers. The question and the search for the right, best motorcycle boots has always been superfluous for me, as several shoe manufacturers were just around the corner. That was until the 1990s, when I arrived in Munich on an exchange trip across the Alps with my RD03, the original Africatwin. That was the first time I came across these motorcycle boots called Daytona, which were unknown in Italy and obviously came from Florida, in a motorcycle accessories store (HG) that was huge and very well stocked for those times and my own ideas. No no, not from the USA, the salesman immediately corrected me, these boots are made here 50 km from Munich by hand and with great care, using the best materials and expertise. They are considered the best on the German market.
Despite my curiosity, I couldn't afford them as a student at the time, but as soon as I could afford them, I bought a pair. And it wasn't long before another model came along. And from then on, the question of the best motorcycle boots for me was always superfluous. Today, some 30 years later, I look in the wardrobe of our family of 5 more or less passionate motorcyclists and realize that, with the exception of a crosser of a different brand, we all ride exclusively and with the greatest satisfaction only motorcycle boots from Daytona. And that across the board in terms of the various “disciplines”: Touring, supermoto, evening excursions into the hinterland, fun laps in the sandpit, urban riding, fully packed vacation trips and maybe some more track riding, who knows. And not just riding, because the ladies of the house, especially the youngest, also wear the boots at work, at school, when going out etc. as if they were normal boots, “because they are super comfortable and offer a secure step even in the everyday life of the urban jungle, dad, and look totally cool, I'm always being asked about them.”

Tried another one once. Regretted it. Back to Daytona.

After many years of wearing my first pair of Daytona boots, I wanted to try a pair of sports boots from another manufacturer. My moped buddy recommended boots from a certain manufacturer that he was familiar with from cycling, so I let myself be persuaded. After all, I wanted to try something new. What can I say? From the very beginning, the boots squeaked with every step (according to the salesperson, the squeaking would quickly disappear—but it never did). The screws used to attach the plastic protectors to the boots rusted before the first rain shower, and brief contact with the hot manifold left an ugly hole in the outer skin of the boot. After the first use in the rain, the boots had shrunk half a size (despite newspaper and drying in the shade). Reason enough to go back to the specialist retailer and buy another pair of Daytonas. Since then, I've only worn Daytonas. Daytona boots fit perfectly, they are durable, and I always feel that I am really securely “wrapped up” in them. Thank you for these brilliant motorcycle boots.

Finally, boots that fit

I am thrilled with the quality.

From high school graduation straight into adventure

35,000 km across Europe After graduating from high school, I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to see Europe on a motorcycle. Although I had already traveled a lot on my Duke 125, I had never really been on a road trip, so I needed a touring motorcycle and new equipment for my off-road plans. I quickly found the motorcycle: a KTM 690 Enduro R. Somewhat influenced by RyanF9's videos, the camping setup consisted of a hammock and tarp to save space – which would later become an adventure in itself. Choosing boots was more difficult. I was actually going to get motocross boots, but after some very energetic advice from a firefighter friend, I ended up with a used pair of Daytona TransTourMan GTX boots. It was absolutely the right decision! After what felt like an eternity, the six months of work were over and the journey began. The first stop was the TET Sardinia, an absolute off-road spectacle. Since these were my first real experiences off-road, I spent more time under the motorcycle than on it. But my boots did their job and slowly but surely my riding skills improved. After a week, my ferry left for Corsica. Driving there is much more road-oriented, but it's an absolute dream for curves. Camping with a hammock and motorcycle was fantastic in the warm weather; most campsites only charged €5-10, since you don't even have a tent. A week later, I headed to Lake Garda to meet the friend who had recommended the boots to me, and together we rode through the Western Alps. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't really on our side: lots of rain and 10°C. But with dry feet and bed and breakfast in the mountains, it was still an absolute spectacle of nature and riding. After swapping motorcycles with his DR650 for an hour, he knew for sure: he also needed a modern dual-sport bike. We parted ways at the French border – he headed back, I continued on towards Spain. I didn't get very far in Spain; it was now July and 38°C in the shade. So I changed my travel plans: I rode through Brittany to Benelux. Off-road, it wasn't comparable to the Alps, but you could cover a lot of ground on the slopes. Here, however, the hammock became a problem. Most campsites were only designed for motorhomes, and finding trees became difficult. But the campsite owners were always willing to help and offered me lanterns or even their tractors as anchor points for the hammock. As I was winding down the evening with a Belgian beer, I received a photo: it was my buddy from the fire department. He had sold his bike and bought a Husky 701 – the starting signal for many future trips together. We rode rally-style along the German-French border through Switzerland and Austria to Slovenia. There we rejoined the TET to Dubrovnik in Croatia. From there, it was time to head home: we took a relaxed, holiday-style ride along the coast, from beach to beach, towards Munich. Three months, 12 countries, 35,000 km, 3 rear tires, and a fork seal later, the adventure was over. Conclusion: Since then, the Daytonas have been to Slovenia, Sardinia again, the Baltic States to the northernmost tip of Estonia, and Czechia. After 65,000 km and 19 countries in two years, they are still tight and look good!

daytona

Daytona or nothing

Our Daytonas served us faithfully as we crisscrossed Norway. We've both always ridden Daytonas and will never ride anything else. And next year, we'll be back in Norway. Thank you, Daytona, for giving our shoes a facelift. They look like new and are ready for the next adventure. Here's to the next 70,000 km.

The best motorcycle boots are and always will be from Daytona

Top quality, even after many years of wear and heavy use, they are still waterproof. Keep up the good work, please don't skimp on the materials.

daytona

Quality that simply convinces

I've been riding the Daytona Road Star GTX with my second pair for over 25 years. Whether it's rain or heat, these shoes can handle it, and they don't smell after you take them off. Of course, I love riding with them to the sea the most.

daytona

Thank you, Daytona.

I slipped on gravel and my motorcycle fell on my boot. Only my boot was scraped, my foot was completely unharmed. Thank you, Daytona. Matthias

daytona

Totally satisfied 200,000 km

My Daytona Road Star GTX boots, which I have now worn for over 200,000 km (with one new sole replacement), accompanied me to Nepal and were perfect for the off-road conditions there. I wouldn't buy any others; I am completely satisfied and would only recommend these. Best regards, Susanne

Really great. There's only one brand for me.

Hello dear Daytona team, I bought a new motorcycle this year and enjoyed riding over 8,000 km on various tours. In late summer, I went on a week-long tour of Tuscany with friends, and as always, my boots were a faithful companion! Whether riding through the rain over the Alpine passes, sightseeing in small Italian towns, hunting for curves in Tuscany, or chilling on the sunny beach! After we had circumnavigated the island of Elba, we went to one of the many beaches and the boots also took a little break ;O) My Daytona Spirit GTX is now probably 10 years old, but with a little care it still looks great and works really well! For me, there is only one brand of motorcycle boots: Daytona! Have a good ride and best regards, Matthias

daytona

My heirloom

My Daytona Arrow Sport, which I inherited, and me. It has accompanied me on every ride so far, including my very first motorcycle vacation. The tour went from Germany to Austria, Slovenia, through Italy, and back home again. Unfortunately, my two passengers are not in the photo; they had to encourage me for the passes ahead and take pictures of me.

daytona

Worth every cent

I bought my first Daytona boots 27 years ago. The soles were replaced once at the factory. I've traveled all over Europe in them and they've been through it all, whether snow, rain, dust, or 40 degrees Celsius—no problem at all. Now, after 150,000 km, they are getting on in years, but they are still in amazingly good shape. Even though I bought new ones, I still keep them for day trips. I have also recommended Daytona to my friends, and they are thrilled. Sure, Daytona isn't cheap, but these handmade boots are worth every cent. Sole worn out? No problem, send them in and they'll come back like new.

Quality, reliability, sustainability: that's why Daytona

Dear Daytona Team, As a small group of motorcycle enthusiasts, we have been taking regular trips to northern Italy for many years. This year, Lake Kaltern was once again on the list, and on the way there, the first stop at the Fern Pass was a must. My Strive GTX (I'm on the far left) accompanied me reliably, as in previous years, this time in pouring rain. I'm currently putting together a small package to send my Journey XCR to Daytona because, despite careful handling, the decades have left their mark and I want to have them checked to see if they are still worth repairing or if I just need to win the Shortys (in size 46) :-) But that's exactly why I've only worn boots from this brand throughout my entire motorcycling life: the quality, the reliability, and also the possibility of being sustainable by having them repaired when necessary. Keep up the good work! Best regards, J. Burkhart

daytona

For me, only Daytona boots matter.

Old vs. new, after 20 years and a new sole 6 years ago, these boots are now retiring. They've covered 200,000 km and seen quite a bit of the world, but unfortunately they're no longer waterproof. Now the new ones are ready to go, exactly the same as the old ones, and I'll be exploring Greece and the Balkans with them. For me, only Daytona boots count. Thank you, Thomas Wendt, Finsterbergen/Thuringia.

daytona

My best boots

I have been riding motorcycles since 2013, having started at the age of 53. My only and best boots are a pair of Daytona Spirit XCRs, which have accompanied me for 56,000 kilometres. This includes 2 trips to the Maritime Alps, the Rhön, the Bavarian Forest, 2 trips to the Großglockner, Corsica, etc.

Ankle-deep in water. Tight.

I have been riding the Travel Star GTX since 2010. Years ago, I experienced a storm on the Nockalmstraße in Carinthia, where I ended up standing ankle-deep in water at the toll station. And the boot was waterproof. The only thing that's coming to the end of its life now is the sole... but you can have that replaced at Daytona... I'll get that sorted in November. Best regards, Daniel

daytona

I highly recommend it

I've had Dayton's short boots for a few years now. They're top-quality boots, and I'll definitely buy Daytona again next time. The best boots I've ever had. Comfortable to wear, even when walking for long periods. Absolutely perfect fit. I can and will always recommend them.

daytona

Please keep up the good work

Hello Frey Daytona Team! My motorcycle boot story began last weekend at the flea market in Innsbruck. While browsing through my motorcycle gear, two young girls at a stand asked me if I was interested in motorcycle gear...! I asked them both what they had to offer. It was a pair of Frey Daytona shoes, a bit older but in good condition. The only thing that had become brittle over the years were the gear shift caps, but that didn't stop me from trying them on, and they fitted like a sneaker straight away. I was thrilled ... almost in love! After negotiating the price and a subsequent tour the next day, I knew they were a dream and immediately started researching which model they were and who the manufacturer was. That's how I came across you and your repair service, which prompted me to ask you if you could take care of my new acquisition? Unfortunately, in our throw-away society, the kind of service you offer is no longer available very often, and that is precisely why I would like to counteract this by buying my shoe at the flea market. I am therefore proud of your business philosophy and will send it to you for repair so that I can enjoy it for many years to come. With this in mind, thank you very much in advance and please, please keep up the good work. Dietmar from Austria

daytona

Thank you for quality and service

In 2022, after the end of the whole Corona issue, the four of us set off for the Dolomites. Great area, great impressions, beautiful routes (sometimes too crowded) and delicious food. After a rainy day, we had a place to stay in the Bormio 2000 ski resort - on the mountain in an exciting hut. And there my boots were also able to admire the mountain panorama (photo), because they needed to air out. I've been riding the boots since 2011, have coped well with several slips, never got my feet wet and am super satisfied. Even though I have somewhat impaired feet, I can get into the boot really well and can run and bike with it. I particularly like the service from Daytona and the fact that development and production take place in Germany. Keep up the good work and thank you!

daytona

Waterproof around the world

The history of the photo. It was taken on 08.08.2015 in Lake Baikal. My dream came true: to put my feet in the deepest lake on earth once in my life!!! It's actually quite a banal picture, but this pair of Trans Open GTX boots has faithfully accompanied me on all my trips around the world for over ten years. Four times Russia, twice South America, almost all of Europe, North Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania are just some of the destinations. To this day, the boots are absolutely waterproof and have only been re-soled once in their factory and the steel toecaps replaced. You can perhaps imagine how happy I am to have made the decision to buy a pair of Daytona boots a decade ago! Thank you very much for your perfect craftsmanship. These boots will probably be with me until the end of my motorcycling career! DlHzG, Jörg

daytona

With the best boots

With the daytona Travel Star GTX 10 days on the road in France, from 9 degrees to 38 degrees, in rain and sun, just great.

daytona

Constant companions

I've had a few Daytonas over the years and they've really accompanied me everywhere - they're so comfortable :-) At some point I sent them in for repair because the sole had become a bit hard over the years... Then I got a really nice call from Daytona - and they said: "Yes, well... the boots are just too old. Unfortunately, nothing works anymore." It's a shame on the one hand, but also kind of cool because it just shows how long they've lasted. And now I'm going to join in and hope that maybe I'll soon have fresh Daytonas again.

daytona

The best possible protection and comfort for decades

For several decades now, Daytonas have been one of my most important items of clothing when I ride my motorcycle. As I'm one of those people who regularly travel abroad (in addition to my tours in Germany), it's important to me to be as well protected as possible. And that includes boots, of course. On my Scandinavian tours, they ensured that my feet stayed warm and dry despite the heaviest downpours and cold. They also sit well on the foot and you can walk sensibly in them. This year, on the tour through the Cevennes (from which the submitted picture was taken), they were once again a reliable companion. Whether in the heat or in monsoon-like rain (which we had on the return trip 04.-06.06.2025). And all this despite the fact that this pair of boots is already a few years old and the soles urgently need replacing. I know the Daytonas are no bargain, but they are worth every euro. Yours sincerely, Michael Pettke

daytona

33 years

My Dayton experience has been going on for 33 years now. I've changed the bike a few times, but the boots are still the first ones.

daytona

As good as new

I have had the daytona Road Star GTX boots for over 10 years. I have worn them a lot. As the sole had worn out, I sent the boots to Daytona for repair. After a short time, the shoes came back with a new sole at a great price. The shoes looked like new again. THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD AND FAST WORK. I could have disposed of shoes from other manufacturers....

daytona

Daytona forever!

I've never worn anything else - thank you for the great quality!

daytona

Gladly 17 years again

I bid farewell to my faithful companions. For 17 years and an estimated 200,000 km, my Daytona's have been faithful to me and kept my feet protected and dry. And this despite the fact that I gave them little to no care. But now it was time to say goodbye. Even a repair (a unique service from Daytona) was probably too late. For the past 5 years, I have always planned to have it repaired in winter, but unfortunately always put it off until next year. And I didn't have to think for a second about which brand I would buy. Daytona again, of course (Road Star GTX). I slipped them on in the store and after just 4-5 minutes they felt comfortable and pleasant to wear. And that for me, who always has massive problems with new shoes (regardless of their purpose). Perfect! The bar is set high. Very high. Gladly 17 years again. With this quality and durability, the price is also completely reasonable and absolutely acceptable. I'm looking forward to the next few years with my "new" Daytonas.

daytona

I'll never give them away again

I couldn't afford new Daytona boots when I was younger, but I really wanted some. So I got myself a second-hand pair - the Evo Sports. I'd never worn such comfortable shoes before and I was really happy with them. I wear them at home and on the racetrack, and to be honest - I don't want to give them up. That's why I've now sent them for repair, because I want to keep riding them for quite a while. Of course, I'd be super happy to get a pair of shorties - they'd be perfect for short tours or just for everyday use. :)

daytona

Daytonas - super light & comfortable, even in the air!

I've had my Daytonas for a very long time - they're light, comfortable to wear and, in my opinion, stylish. They are also sometimes used for other purposes - not only for motorcycling! They can also be used in the air or at crowded club evenings as a protective measure against trampling (inexperienced dancers). The investment pays for itself quickly, because other shoes fly apart after a bit of wear and tear with today's (adhesive) manufacturing (I've experienced this several times with biker friends) ... I praise my Daytonas for that, they have paid for themselves many times over!

daytona

Top quality, top repair service

My Frey daytona Touring Star GTX are now “a few years” old (bought in 2006 - approx. 35Tkm) and are, along with the fire department boots and the mountain hiking boots, the most expensive shoes that I STILL own (I have had to replace some of the others several times in the meantime). A recent repair was necessary (shift reinforcement torn). Here, too, the quality of the daytona's proved itself once again. A repair was still worthwhile, the repair costs were reasonable and the process was uncomplicated and quick. The boots came back in top condition, perfectly repaired and almost as good as new within a few days. The season (and hopefully many more to come) can begin.

I love them

Hello, the one with the KTM I am in motorcycle training and I have had the Daytona shoes for a very long time, they are just great, they are the same ones you can win, I love them.

daytona

Incredibly waterproof and almost a hiking shoe too

I've been riding Daytona for 20 years. Formerly the Daytona Bandit GTX, now the Burdit, but it's the same shoe. Even though it is advertised as a lightweight summer shoe, I can also use it in the transitional period without any problems. Incredibly waterproof - which it has unfortunately had to prove too often - and you can walk in it almost like a hiking boot!

I no longer wear any others

After the first Dytonas lasted about 10 years or 100,000 km, I treated myself to a new daytona Spirit GTX in 2023. I swear by dry feet and my Daytonas, because it can rain a lot in the north of Europe. I don't wear any others anymore. Quality that fits. The picture is from the Arctic Circle Saltfjellveien 1850, 8630 Storforshei, Norway Greetings Klaus

Always on the move with excellent boots

Hello, I have 3 pairs of Daytonas, all are excellent. In the picture I was riding with a buddy in the southern Black Forest. Wonderful routes and always great food. I had to follow my friend, who always rides a bit faster than me, so the left boot sometimes touched the road. But he coped with that without any problems. Fortunately, I can't report any injuries - but I think the boot would save me from the worst. I had the HD XR 1200x for 8 years, now it's on the road in Brandenburg. Unfortunately you can only upload one picture, I would have liked to add a picture of the successor, a Triumph Speed Twin.

daytona

There is no alternative to my Trans Open

They were fitted to my feet in Eggenfelden almost 10 years ago and are with me on every tour. Even when I go to the beach in Sicily. They fit perfectly and I can wear them without compromise for days on end without any signs of fatigue. They cut a perfect figure on and off-road and support the foot. The shoes have seen pretty much all of Europe. Let's see where else the shoes will take me in the future. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

daytona

Your boots saved my feet

Boots Daytona GTX Trans Open, worn well over 100,000 km, 1x overhauled at daytona. Accident 2022 : Left foot completely broken once in the ankle, all bones = 1x through plus a few ligaments!!! Aaaaabut - !!! NO SURGERY !!! - because nothing was displaced. The doctor who treated me asked in amazement what kind of shoes I was wearing and that it was only thanks to them that nothing worse had happened to my foot, that the bones were broken but not displaced by the strain. That would be very unusual and certainly only thanks to the excellent footwear. Which shoe Mr. Doc = egg clear “ Daytona, the best ” Many thanks to Daytona, your boots saved my foot. It took 1 year, then everything was back to normal, full function. In the meantime I'm riding my bike again, and yes, “still with the same Daytona Trans Open GTX”, there was no sign of the accident. Brilliant, I love Daytona boots, there's nothing better for me. Keep it up !!!!!!!

daytona

Convinced by quality and comfort

I have always been satisfied, be it with the Spirit GTX, the AC4WD or the Strive GTX. I would recommend Daytona immediately, as I am impressed by the quality and comfort.
