The same boots for 23 years - can they ever break?
I bought these boots over 20 years ago because they were comfortable to wear straight away and gave me a good feeling. In the meantime, I've changed my bike - I only ride maxi scooters - 4 times, but the boots are still the same. I've been on the Grossglockner at 5 degrees, on Lake Garda at 30 degrees and in the Ore Mountains in pouring rain and never had wet or cold feet. I only had to have the soles replaced, but that was no problem thanks to the first-class repair service. I'm beginning to wonder whether these boots can break at all ;-)

You can rely on daytona - even in the sea
I was traveling with a friend in the Baltics. The photo was taken on the island Saaremaa. We had to drive about 500m through the Baltic Sea because a road was closed. Nice when you can rely on your material then. I drive a daytona Road Star GTX.
We always look forward to safe driving
Always safe on the road
Worth every cent ...
I just got back from a very rainy Scandinavia vacation and told friends that I only had four dry days in the three weeks of driving. I was asked how one would endure that. It's good when the equipment is right. And then I came up with my Travelstar GTX, which I've been driving for six years. If there are two things that I can rely on completely and again and again: my tent and my Daytonas. I haven't got my feet wet once in all of the weeks. And I had rained in pretty much every conceivable shape and direction: from above, below, from the side. Thick drops, drizzle, puddles, stream crossings. The Daytonas have quietly carried everything and never gave up. Everything still works like it did at the beginning and I am glad that I spent this larger sum back then. They were cleaned again after the tour and completely cared for with warm beeswax and are already waiting to go on tour again the next weekend. The picture shows the shoes by the Lysfjord, where I had breakfast during a rain break. Marco Möller
Fast and Secure with daytona
Above that, they gave me a secure feeling...
After 2 years of planning and waiting due Corrona, my friend and I had a go for our " Nordkapp " adventure and here also started my Daytona story ! I ride on an all-road motorbike, special bought for this kind of trips. These type of bikes, are normally very high with the seat hight and even with the lowest position, I nearly could get ground contact with my feed, what gave an unsafe feeling. Also step on and off the bike, gave some struggle due the hight of the bike !. Looking for all kind of solutions, I came too the Daytona M-Star boots !!. Reading about this boots and that they have a 6cm higher stand, they got my interest !!. Just before the start of the trip, I was lucky that my local dealer had these boots on sale :-) . Riding with the M-Star boots gave me a good feeling right away. The result was a stable ground position !. (What a few centimeters can give you a total different feeling !! ) We started our adventure on july 8, driving from the Netherland to Stockholm in 3days. From there, we made a transfer to Finland. In the first part from our trip, into deep Finnish Lapland, the weather was quite warm with 28 degrees Celsius. Luckily the bike and motorgear (including the M-Stars) held good !. In the second part, above the Artic Circle, the scenery was surprisingly beautiful. Driving there was sometimes as if you are alone in the world !. Unfortunaly the weather also became unstable with rain, wind and temperture dropping to 11 degrees. At the North Cape we had sunshine turning into rain, storm and fog in a time frame of 20 minuts . Spectaculair to visite where the Island of Lofoten which is still in te Artic area. Here nature is still rough and untouched. We made a daytrip by boat, to the Trollfjord where we spot the Sea Eagles and much other wild life. In the third part, we drove along the west coast of Norway, where the landscape is also very spectaculair ,with mountain, fjords, glaciers and beautiful lakes. A must for a motorbiker, is to drive on "the Atlantic road" and the famous "Trollstigen" , but driving there everwhere, is fun !. In this more southern part of Norway, the weather got more friendly again with sun and 20+ temperature. In Oslo the "new habour district" is with good weather fun, here people swim, eat and enjoying the atmosphere. In part four, we drove back from Scandinavia to the Netherlands, where past Sweden, Denmark and Germany. In this part we drove maily highways in order to get quickly back home . In this 3weeks we drove nearly 8000km in all kind of different weather conditions, such as high summer till winter. For such trips, it is very important that you can rely on your motorgear, I had for this trip a Revit Dominator jacket and trousers which are made from GORE-TEX Pro. They kept me the whole trip warm/cool and dry. My boots where the Daytona M-Star and they are made from outside leather and inside with a GORE-TEX membrane . They kept also the whole trip warm/cool and dry and above that, they gave me a secure feeling by giving me stable position whit both feet on the ground ! So here ends the small summary of my "North Cape story", which I can advise to ride, for all motorbikers who are looking for an adventure . Greetings from the Netherlands and don't forget, Drive Safe !. Remco Rietveld
Just great
Have your short shaft AC Pro for closer tours in good weather, great. Still looking for boots with a higher shaft (slim version) for worse weather and longer tours. Gebhard Petry, Germany
Truly the most comfortable and practical boots I've ever owned.
After many years of wearing out mid range boots, I decided to buy a good pair that would last well. I did my research and (like everyone else) I knew that Daytona were the best but, to be honest, at the time they seemed like too expensive an option for me. I set off for my local bike shop, intent on getting something in the next level down. I had completely forgotten that our village bike show was on that day, so my girl friend and I dropped in on the way past. There were two charity stalls there and one of them had two pairs of used boots for sale. One was the typical cheap ones that I'd been wearing out and the other was a pair of Daytona Roadstars... for thirty pounds!! I pointed them out to my girlfriend (quietly, so that the stall holder wouldn't realize what he had) but he just looked at me, smiles and said, "Yes, they are Daytonas and they are that price". About forty thousand miles later they're still going strong and I would certainly pay the new price for them now. Except that I won't have to because I can send them back for refurbishment. Truly the most comfortable and practical boots I've ever owned. Tony Mayo, UK
Very reliable and extremely durable
My Road Star GTX has been a faithful, very faithful companion for eight years and about 70,000 km. Absolutely reliable, even when it rains for hours on a multi-day tour. Even in very hot weather, the "foot climate" always remains bearable. It is very comfortable to walk in. A perfect all-rounder. Very reliable and extremely durable. Very easy to care for and with Daytona care cream it actually looks like new after eight years. Now after the above-mentioned use, I am having the boots resoled by the repair service. I'm also going to buy the TransTourMan GTX as a second pair of boots. Because they offer more protection for riding on gravel and in light terrain. Martin Brettschneider, Germany
Nothing beats good experience
After we finished our annual motorbike ride with 20 colleagues and many suffered due to bad footwear in the disastrous weather conditions, the following email from a colleague. Since several people asked me questions, here is a summary (with links to read): After 40 years of EXPERIENCE on motorised two-wheelers / about 300,000 km [+ the experience of the friends who accompanied me], I recommend: shoes: In my environment, people have been riding Daytona Gore-Tex exclusively for several years (no negative experiences whatsoever) I have been riding the Spirit XCR for many years, completely thrilled [will soon be replaced by the same new ones] Frey Daytona is in Eggenfelden, ~70 km north of Chiemsee [go on holiday with the family at Chiemsee and briefly go to Eggenfelden for shopping. . ;-) ] Frey manufactures the boots in all possible foot shapes and sizes -> if it's "stuck" ask directly there (Louis, Polo & Co. can order the boots on commission there [but they have no idea about it]). If something breaks, you can also have the boots repaired there! https://www.daytona.de/de/ https://www.daytona.de/de/Stiefel/Uebersicht/Uebersicht-Auswahl/Spirit-GTX (now without XCR because Gore-Tex have changed their product names...) Lady Star GTX and M-Star GTX with 6 cm EINGEARBEITER sole elevation [no "tinkering" - you can even walk with them...] are also highly recommended (I could even ride the Beta 400RR on the road with them ;-) -> I wouldn't need a tree to lean on any more) -> our colleague could ride a motorbike with them without lowering them ;-) Thomas Speer, Germany
Fully satisfied since 1996
I bought the boots in 1996 together with the Triumph Daytona, and I still wear them. But now they are slowly giving up and I will probably buy new ones. I have been completely satisfied with the boots all these years, so for me, of course, there is only Daytona by Frey. Gerd Derjong
All good, right from the start
Bought boots, put them on, rode them and felt completely comfortable.

Worth the price for generations
My first Daytona boots were given to me by my father in 1983, together with my first moped, the Yamaha RD80. I rode every day in all weathers, just like you do in the village. After about ten/fifteen years, now a father myself, I bought a couple of newer Daytonas. I still ride them today. Admittedly, they look a bit worn. But they keep tight even in bad weather and are just so comfortable. Now that my daughter is getting on a bike, it's time for a new pair. I think three pairs of shoes for a generation of motorcycling is really little and worth the price. M.Wierz, Germany
Accident. Luckily with Daytonas on my foot.
A couple of years ago I had an accident on my motorbike at about 70 km/h. Luckily I had Daytona Trans Open boots on. Despite the boots, the left leg was swollen thick and green and blue after a few days. I don't want to imagine what the leg would have looked like without the boot. Michael Neeb Kirchheimbolanden
Sensible boots. Since 1993!
After my first driving lessons, I had a nasty accident. Luckily I only sprained my left ankle. My driving instructor told me to get some sensible boots that I could wear under jeans. Until then, I had only worn trainers to driving lessons. That was 1993! So I went to Hein Gericke in Trier and the nice salesman advised me to buy the short DAYTONA. At that time they were available for about DM 220. It was a lot at the time, but it was definitely worth it, because these boots have been with me for quite a long time. I haven't worn them for driving for some time now, but I do use them for mowing the lawn. Stephanie Jost, Germany
Simply perfect, since the 80s
I've been riding my Daytona Le Mans since I got my A1 driving licence in 2005. My father bought them new in the 80s when he was 19. They are not only a nice souvenir, I would even say they bring me luck, because "Toi Toi Toi" I haven't crashed once with them! What's more, they match the style of my 1984 Moto Morini Kanguro perfectly. Here's to more crash-free years!

Infected with the Daytona virus, because they are worth their price
My first Road Star won me over in 2005. And over the years, I've learned to appreciate other Daytonas off the bike as well. In the meantime, I'm already riding my second pair of Road Star and the Arrow when it gets warmer. I use Moto Fun and AC in all situations and appreciate the comfort and quality of Daytona. In my experience, they are all worth the price. Torsten Lipkowski, Germany
35 years old, but I certainly do not give them away!
Have no experience with other boots, as my first Parr were a pair of Daytona motorcycle boots. These are now Ca. 35 years old and continue to follow me on every ride I take. Thinking of buying some new Daytonas to have 100% waterproof boots, but I certainly won't give the old ones away! Lars Søndergaard, Austria
Also used tiptop
My experience is still quite short: Until a few weeks ago I drove lace-up boots, until I got one poured during safety training - arrival with wet feet included. Since my 40-year-old XJ 900 currently needs some (financial) attention, my budget has only used boots. With the seller they were among other things in Scotland, and there they will soon come again in the wet autumn. So far driven 1,500 km, with warm and dry feet. The rubber pads on top need new. The rest is tippitoppi. New ones will be added at some point. Ride On. Uli Wernikowsky, Germany

Thanks Flash, for 20 years
I wore the shoes for a good 20 years, every year for biking, they also survived two accidents well and secured my feet. But now it's time to dispose of the Flash, which has done its job with flying colours. I have ordered a Road Star GTX. Greetings Oliver Denzinger
Quality made in Germany. Stay true to your line.
New motorbike boots, which ones should I buy? Hello Daytona Team, after more than 20 years of touring use, overturn on gravel road, machine sideways on the foot, 10 hours of continuous rain, small accident with three broken ribs, blue thigh and >>> the feet without a scratch and without a bruise. Feet always dry, or even in extreme heat (38- 40 degrees) no sweaty feet >>> the feet always felt comfortable and well protected. New motorbike is ordered, then it is also time for new motorbike boots. The choice was easy. Or rather, the choice didn't arise at all, there is only one DAYTONA Trans Open GTX. I am pleased that these high-quality boots are produced in Germany and proudly bear the "Made in Germany" logo. PS: The old motorbike boots are still in use, with the old bike ;-) Stay true to your line of producing the best motorbike boots in the world. Yours sincerely me.Jürgen Stahlmann-Freund, Germany
11 years and still the best boots in the world.
Recommendation to anyone who doesn't want to know :)

Have had the shoes for over 30 years
Many small tours and European tours. Always perfect companions whether in sunshine, rain or snow. The best thing about it: I still have them today and they are still perfect. Many thanks Daytona

Opti, protection, comfort ... ingenious all-rounders.
The picture shows me on my beloved SR400 from Yamaha, just before the first longer tour on my classic bike. The Daytona AC-4WD, which I am wearing in the picture, complement the rest of my "retro-adapted" outfit with biker jeans and leather jacket and offer me optimal, Daytona-standard protection and a lot of wearing comfort, so that I can move around comfortably during the numerous stops at places of interest. Many thanks for these ingenious all-rounders :-)

20 years of extreme use
I've had my Daytona Touring Star GTX for 20 years now (+ - ). I bought them at the Louis Fiale in Bremen. They passed the first rainy ride of 600 km with flying colours. Countless 10,000 km followed with the boots all over Europe. They have never let me down on the moped tours. After 20 years of extreme use, they had to go to my trusted cobbler last winter. They got a new sole and the shifting reinforcement on top of the boot was renewed and 2x new insoles original from Daytona. Unfortunately I found out too late that you also repair boots in your shop. I'll probably take advantage of that again and have you glue the original gearshift reinforcement onto my boots. I've often worn new Daytona boots at Louis because they are no longer 100% waterproof, probably because of the membrane. But once they've been treated with BW shoe polish, they're watertight again. Should I really need new moped boots, I will buy them again because they are simply TOP. Best regards Frank & Tanja Suhrhoff, Germany
After half an eternity like on the first day
Richie Rieke from Linden sold me my first Daytonas (VOYAGER GTX) half an eternity ago: "Something new, you'll like them." True words, because they are as tight as on the first day, keep warm and if I hadn't finally outgrown size 45, my mile boots would still come along on tour. Now it will probably be the TransTourMan GTX in 47 for the charity tour through Scandinavia :-) Lars Lepper, Germany
30 years
Am 2018 after 11 years of motorcycle abstinence back in the saddle (R1200RS) and for this the 30 years (!) Old Daytonas were brought out of the basement. And now they begleid(t)en me on the third Alpine tour. Helmut Zeitter, Germany
Indestructible. You can't do without Daytonas.
On the journey to Machu Picchu the shortcut across Lake Titicaca and the boots hold and hold. In the meantime about 200 000 km. Once new soles and now they are due again. Although not enduro boots - but they do everything with. Even larger hikes, easy water crossings and once sink in Dartmoor, indestructible. Whether cold in Iceland, or the heat on Sardinia - without the Daytona it does not go! Ulrike Wiedemann
Unreservedly recommendable
The Road Star GTX have been my constant companion on the bike for over 20 years. From the overturn to the visit of a ditch and the many kilometers run really do not mind the boot. 2 times already been at Daytona, once replace the sole, once renew the shift reinforcement. Fast, clean, effective. Can be recommended without reservation. Since there is the new in M-Star version and above all now also in more than only up to size 42, I will consider but, with my 171 cm the increase times to try.
Rudi Rombach, Germany
Great
The first ride in 2021 with the first Daytona boots. Great, why not sooner?

Still very satisfied after 20 years
My Daytona are over 20 years old and I'm still very happy with the boots (only the shift reinforcement has come loose). Slowly, however, it is time for new Daytona
Nice people, great service, ideal boots.
A dear hello to Eggenfelden. After my boots got a second life in February 2020 (soles new) and also won, I and my partner on our trip south in Eggenfelden a stop because I wanted to give the shoes to my partner. Our thanks to the nice people from Daytona, who take a lot of time to find the right shoe, and that's not always so easy, you have them for days on your feet. It was after extensive trying a couple of Arrow Sport GTX, which you now already has 9000 km on the feet and is totally happy. Who has the opportunity, take a look in Eggenfelden, the service is right, the people are nice and the shoes fit or are made to fit, with us there is only Daytona on the feet, thank you.

The success proves you right
Dear Frey family, I fahe Daytona since 1982 and bought my 1st boots to fit my Honda CX 500 Euro directly from Harro in Nagold together with the leather suit. Meanwhile I had many motorcycle changes and am just looking for the legendary Road Star GTX. I am very convinced of Daytona and appreciate the quality that has remained the same over decades, the robustness and long life. The success proves you right. Attached is a photo from a rest stop on the way to Italy shortly after burning.
Many greetings Christian Straub, Germany

These boots were made for biking.
Hello Daytona Staff, having purchased these Daytona Highway Boots over 25 years ago I am still wearing them although I purchased a pair of Daytona Non Stop GTX boots in November 2011.The Highway boots have seen rain of biblical amounts here in the UK where it rains everyday HA HA and having toured around Europe for 25 years plus. These Highway boots have kept my feet dry and warm (no leaks what so ever) but are now in their last days of use which is a full testament to the Daytona brand. Mmmmm I wonder if they could be restored / repaired ? Thank You Daytona Stuart Kerr United Kingdom
Can only recommend Daytona to everyone!!!!
Drive for many years a Daytona touring boot as a custom-made, perfectly matched to my foot. Fits super comfortable and now I get me another summer boot, the model Journey XCR. Can only recommend Daytona to everyone!!!! The holds DICHT!!

Not cheap, but worth every euro!!!
Our first ride of the season! And then drove with my wife directly to Louis to buy Daytona Lady Star GTX for you too. It was a great day! I have been driving Daytona for many years and am thrilled. Not cheap, but worth every euro!!! Thanks for that! Best regards from Vienna;

Also suitable for extreme Russian slopes
In 2009 I acquired a pair of "Roadstar" boots, for a trip to Russia, to the North Caucasus. In the Caucasus, I was invited by Russian motorcycle friends for a tour in the mountains. This route was classified by the friends there as EXTREME. I had almost no experience with off-road riding and since my machine was not suitable for it, they provided me with a light, off-road machine. The track that was chosen had a length of about 80 km. It led through deepest jungle and over a so-called tank road, which had also been used by German troops in the Second World War. Well knowing that I was wearing new Daytona boots, I didn't want to miss out on the offer. And off we went into the terrain. If Russians speak of "extreme", then the track is also extreme: water holes up to 1/2 meter deep and mud without end. What a shame for my new boots, but it was worth it. It remained an experience, which I can never forget. My boots have withstood the torture except for 2 cuts on the top layer. I still use the boots today, especially since they were resoled once. After so many years, however, new Daytona "Roadstar" are due this year, but this time without muddy tracks.

Of course Daytona again
I never have to worry about cold or wet feet on my tours, Daytona shoes are for me next to my leather suit the most important and best thing you can wear and buy. I would not want to miss you ... after 12years I have now needed new shoes / boots ... and what can I say: fit, price, function were important to me and so it has become Daytona TouringStar II (VXR-18 GTX) boots again. On a great, accident-free, corona-poor Bikesasion ^^ Axel Schriever, Germany
These Boots are made for Walking…
you might think, that's how super comfortable they are. From now on, the walk through the pedestrian zones / weekly markets will be a completely different. I hope I will not forget my motorcycle yet^^ Tobias Kaminski, Germany
In use since the late 90s
Hello, I bought the boots at the end of the 90s. These have spent with me a lot of time and many kilometers over the Alps, even in the rain with dry feet. Also on the country road the boots have been taken here. Except for the shift reinforcement, which is now somewhat loosened everything is still fine on the boot. But unfortunately I had to part with the boot, as these have unfortunately become too small. They were always good companions. Thank you Daytona. Fred Häring, Germany
I enjoy this great product every time I go on a tour :-)

The best shoe, even in the sand
First excursion of the year to the coast of Schillig / East Friesland. Fantastic weather, beautiful beach and the best part, the Daytonas won't let me down here either. The Daytonas make running on sand a pure experience, because you don't sink into the sand as you normally would with other shoes, but have good stability while running. Daytona again and again.
Kathrin Gerdes, Germany
After eight years of use, they are almost like new
Today, when the snow has melted away and the weather is getting warmer, I took out my mc-gear to see that all was fit for the upcoming first trip for the year. Then I came to think about when I put my Daytona boots away for the winter, I cleaned them and treated them with some Leather Care and after that I realised that still, after eight years of use, they are almost like new with only a bit of care. I remembered the first times I used my Daytona boots and the hughe difference from my earlier boots, they almost felt like rubberboots compared to the Daytonas. This really made me happy and I wrote an e-mail to the dealer who sold the Daytona boots to me, telling him how happy I was with them and that I will never go on a motorcycle with any other boots.
Thank you and best regards,
Henrik Åkesson, Sweden
Thanks Daytona quality no bone broken
I wanted to park my BMW R1150 GS on a parking strip with small paving stones and overlooked a depression (optical illusion). I tipped over and I did not bring my foot away in time. My foot was under the cylinder. Except for bruises, bruises and a thick foot (that's enough) everything remained intact. Two colleagues lifted the machine and freed me. The ankle was not broken and thanks to "Daytona quality" remained intact. Greetings
Uwe Braun, Germany
We are glad to have the Daytonas
After yet another long, hard and beautiful ride on our recent vacation in the Baltics, we found a place to stay for a well-deserved night's rest and are glad to be able to count on the quality of our Daytonas.... Harald Bannasch, Germany
