The same boots for 23 years - can they ever break?
I bought these boots over 20 years ago because they were comfortable to wear straight away and gave me a good feeling. In the meantime, I've changed my bike - I only ride maxi scooters - 4 times, but the boots are still the same. I've been on the Grossglockner at 5 degrees, on Lake Garda at 30 degrees and in the Ore Mountains in pouring rain and never had wet or cold feet. I only had to have the soles replaced, but that was no problem thanks to the first-class repair service. I'm beginning to wonder whether these boots can break at all ;-)
Stories with daytona®
Rest until March
There they are now. A bit battered after the trip on the Route des Grand Alpes. Have held up beautifully, as they have done for many, many years. Can now look forward to March after a little care.
Ten years, two worlds, one pair of boots - my Daytona story
When I look at my Daytona boots, I see more than just racing boots - I see a faithful companion that hasn't let me down for over a decade. Whether on the race track in Almeria on a Kawasaki ZX10R or relaxed touring on my BMW R 1250 RT: These boots simply do it all. What makes them special? They are not only indestructible and still waterproof, but also incredibly comfortable. In fact, they are some of the most comfortable boots I own - and that's saying something. Even walking for hours on end is no problem. The fit? Still perfect. Of course, they've been through a lot in the last ten years. The sparks that the magnesium sliders produce when things get a bit more intense in the bends are particularly funny - my little fireworks display that I control myself! Now, after all these years, I'm treating them to a new sole - thanks to the fantastic service from Daytona. So they not only remain a piece of nostalgia, but also a prime example of sustainability. Why buy something new when the best you've ever had can simply be refurbished? Daytona - these are boots that are not only robust, but also tell a story. And my story with them is far from over! Coming soon on my new 1300 GS.
Clearly: Daytona
I took my tests last week and will be picking up my license on Friday. I wanted Alpinestars and bought Daytona boots. The decision was easy.
Perfect
In 350,000 km, odours only developed once for a short time because I had to take three bikes across a river ... otherwise everything was perfect with the daytonas.
My Blacky is picked up from the dealer
Of course only with my Daytonas.
At the very top with our Daytonas
A small birthday party on the Pyrenees tour. Càmping El Cortal del Grail.
Tyrol, endless rain!
But that can stop at some point...! Nevertheless, one of the best vacations ever with daytonas! :-)
AIRFIELD EXPERIENCE
... not without my Daytonas
Worth every cent
Previously had other brands that were very uncomfortable, but cheap. Quality costs something, but I've had the boots for over 10 years. Simply top.
Quality pays off
I have the Daytona Road boots. I have been riding them for 8 years and approx. 80,000 km. I have always had dry feet, even in heavy rain. Only again this year at the end of June on the way home from Slovenia. My motorcycle colleague had a shoe from Louis' own brand. He had wet feet. The durability and quality are unrivaled, even if the shoe is a little more expensive. Quality in Germany pays off here.
“You won't find anything more comfortable.”
Hi, when I bought my first “big” motorcycle 10 years ago, I naturally had to have the right outfit and footwear. My father gave me the boots back then, with the words: “I bought the Daytona boots new when I was your age, you won't find anything more comfortable anywhere.” What can I say, he was right. The boots have accompanied me on countless tours, whether at home or abroad. Today I bought myself a new pair of Daytona Travel Star GTX, but I will probably continue to wear my old “leather sandals” from time to time, especially on my classic car.
Better than extra lightweight walking shoes
My Lady Stars took me across Italy. What was great was that I could walk better than my moped friends, who had extra-light shoes in their luggage. As a reward, they had blisters. Hä hä hä.
Very satisfied for over 30 years
I have been riding with Daytona boots for over 30 years and have always been very satisfied. Once my boots were repaired at the factory (at that time still a Swiss address) because they were "leaking". Firstly, they were leak-proof again and they even professionally sewed on a piece of leather that I had glued on. That's what you call service!!!
Definitely only Daytona
Actually, I'm not a good Daytona customer, because I've had the boots since 2004 and have ridden almost 100,000 km with them. They have also taken a fall and protected my ankle well. I treat them with shoe polish and waterproofing soak 2 or 3 times a year and they are still almost as waterproof as they were on the first day. At some point in the next few years, they will probably get new ones anyway...but definitely only Daytona brand ....
Super happy
I've been wearing various Daytona boots since 2006 and I'm really happy with them. Once I sent them in for repair because the shift reinforcement came loose. They were repaired really well. Now the sole is coming off. However, the Shorty have already been around for a few years. I would of course be delighted to win them now. Because the prize is exactly my shoe ☺️. It would save me money on having them repaired again.
If they last just as long, they'll probably be the last ones I buy
Suddenly broken! 25 years, 8 motorcycles, over 180000 km and suddenly broken! Unbelievable, a shock, after a motorcycle week in the Harz Mountains in July 24, I suddenly discovered large holes in the soles of my Trans Open GTX, which are over 25 years old. You've ridden all over Europe from the Mediterranean to the North Cape on 8 of your own motorcycles and several work bikes that I've looked after, and now this. As they always did their job perfectly and I never got my feet wet even with these holes in the soles, the sadness of having to part with them is all the greater. But luckily you can order new ones and if they last just as long, they'll probably be the last ones I buy. DAYTONA, you have the coolest motorcycle boots, safe, sustainable, comfortable and always there when you need them. Greetings from the Ammerland Ralf K.
I am totally thrilled!
I was somewhat skeptical about the experience reports published here. Especially the statements that the Daytona should also be suitable for longer walks. I simply didn't know that from previous motorcycle boots. But it's true: my Daytona Lady Pilot GTX are so comfortable and finally nothing pinches when riding. I love these shoes and wouldn't want to be without them! Thanks to the whole team for this great quality and performance. Hats off!
But if I ride the next pair for just as long, they will outlive me
Dear Frey, after about 30 years with my motorcycle boots from you, I am now ready to buy a new pair. A few years ago, I considered having them re-soled, which I think is basically a very good thing. But if I ride the next pair for just as long, they will outlive me. These boots have seen me through all weather conditions and there is no question of whether I should change to another product, unlike the rest of my motorcycle equipment, such as helmet, jacket, trousers, etc. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on such a great product! Keep up the good work.
Daytona again and again
No matter which bike I'm on, the DAYTONA ARROW SPORT GTX are always with me. It's a comfortable boot that's also great for going for a walk if you like. What's particularly great is that I can buy spare parts for the boots or send them in for repair if necessary. Daytona again and again.
I have never been so satisfied
Hello, I am now 60 years old and have been riding motorized two-wheelers since I was 15. I have been the proud owner of daytona Road Star GTX boots for about 6 years. I have never felt so comfortable in motorcycle boots and have never been so satisfied. Apart from the well-known quality and the very good properties when riding a motorcycle, the daytona can also be worn very well for a short hike in the city or off-road. Greetings Rainer
You have infected me, they are worth every cent
On my first big motorcycle tour on my first bike, I didn't want to compromise on the initial equipment. With my knowledge of the highest levels of safety, durability, comfort and exceptional wearing comfort both when riding and walking, there was no way around my Daytona ROAD STAR GTX. After the tour, I can enthusiastically say that they were worth every cent and gave me a pleasant feeling of safety at all times and in all weather conditions. Thank you for that - you have convinced me and infected me for more great motorcycle tours.
Let's get going
Just bought and ready for many years of vacations and tours!
Daytona Road Star, what else!
Had the best moped vacation in Austria with my best buddies! Lots of bends, gear changes, braking, no problem! The boot lasts. And after over 100,000 km with Daytona boots in 8 years, I got a new pair: Daytona Road Star, what else!
Great quality
My father bought these boots about 25 years ago. When I started motorcycling 8 years ago, he gave me his equipment as a gift so that I didn't have to buy everything new. The boots have lasted over 150,000km, but it's time to replace them. I will definitely stay loyal to Daytona and buy the same boots again. Unfortunately, it is no longer common these days for such great quality to be produced. Once Daytona, always Daytona
Will always ride Daytona
My Daytona boots are already 15 years old, whether snow, rain or sunshine, they are great. Now, after 15 years, I have to send them in because the rubber on the top is becoming porous and breaking. Well, you can live with that after such a long time. I will always ride Daytona :) Thanks for the great quality.
The quality has convinced me
I've only ridden Daytona from the start, as I'm a (touring) enduro rider, of course the Road Star GTX. The quality convinced me right from the start and they are also good for my feet. Now I've treated myself to a Guzzi, which would of course look great with a pair of stylish short-shaft boots :)
Norway in my first Daytona shoes.......perfect
Daytona fits perfectly, whatever the weather
All Daytona
I've been riding my Daytona "Shorty" for 12 years now. Today I was once again out and about with our large group - and under the table we realised: all "Daytona"
My boots are at least 45 years old.
Greetings from Dietmar Martsch
The right boot for 17 years
Always on the move in Daytona boots, even when sightseeing here in Pula in Istria, at 34°C. Daytona Burdit GTX, the right boot for me since 2007
If you buy Daytona, you don't have to buy twice
Dear Daytona team, after more than 100,000 km, I treated my thirty-year-old TOURSTAR GTX to new soles for its anniversary. As always with Daytona (the shift reinforcements had already been replaced once before), the process was quick and smooth in less than two weeks, despite a long national holiday weekend! The boots came back like new. In general, I can say that I have never got my feet wet, the boots are comfortable, robust, stable and durable with sporadic care. If you buy cheap, you buy at least (!) twice. I can recommend Daytona with a clear conscience, 5 out of 5 stars and another 5 for the service! Marc S.
Once Daytona, always Daytona
Hello dear Daytona team, a good boot is almost more important than a good bike, because even a bad bike will get me to my destination, but a good boot will get me there dry. That's why our Daytona is always with us on every tour, whether near or far. Me and my girlfriend wouldn't want to be without them, so once a Daytona, always a Daytona. Greetings Martin
I love them
I am relatively short and now have the second model of Daytona boots with heel elevation. What can I say ... I love them! They give me a lot of security when stopping, as I can reach the ground better. This means I don't have to lower the bike. I also really like the look of them. Thank you!
Best grip, long-lasting
In mid-March, we set off on a 10-country Balkan tour, 6,500km through wild landscapes and regularly found that the grip of our Daytona boots was at least as important as the grip of the tires. Incidentally, my previous Daytona has already been in use for 21 years, has been resoled twice and still serves me as a fair-weather summer boot :-)
25 years - they were already sustainable when the word didn't even exist yet
After more than 25 years, it's time for new boots! I bought my Daytona boots over 25 years ago and have enjoyed many, many accident-free kilometers in all weathers. Whether in snowstorms in the Alps, 38°C in the Spanish shade or on dusty gravel roads in Montenegro, the Daytona has always brought my feet home dry and blister-free. But now it's time for new Daytona boots. The leather is still as good as new thanks to proper care, but the textile materials are now starting to disintegrate. I will probably put my old boots in the display case. Many thanks to the Daytona team for the quality product and a product that was already “sustainable” when the word didn't even exist! Best regards Michael
Comfortable and dry
Hello, I got into motorcycle touring in my 50s and bought the Daytona Road Star GTX in the fall of 2023. On 13,000 km through France, the Pyrenees, northern Spain, Portugal, Andalusia and Extremadura, they were super comfortable and dry. The photo was taken at a campsite in the Sierra Nevada. Best regards Melanie
Dry feet thanks to Daytona
My Touring Star GTX have been with me on all my trips and excursions for a few years now. Here we were suddenly caught in the rain just before the Tauern Tunnel. Thanks to my Daytonas and the umbrella, I got through my vacation dry.
Break in the Allgäu, with Daytona of course
Daytona: top
Hey, I ride a GTX, super satisfied, light and comfortable.
Thank you for the good German craftsmanship
I did my class A 17 years ago and bought a pair of Daytona boots. After 60,000 km the soles were worn through. I sent the boots to FREY and within a week I got them back with a new sole. At a super fair price. Thanks for that and my recommendation. Biker buys Daytona boots. There is still good German craftsmanship. Thank you for that.
Thanks Daytona
Crash on gravel with Africa Twin on the right side, was jammed under the main stand, leather pants were perforated, Daytonas only suffered slight visual damage.
Update: The repair service is also great.
I dropped the boots off at my local Louis store last Tuesday. Yesterday (Monday!) I received a text message: the boots can be picked up. That took less than a week with return shipping, and that in the middle of the season. Let someone copy that... The boots are like new again, thank you very much for the super service!
They are superbly made and last forever
I got my first Daytonas (Voyager Goretex) in 1992, which I rode until 2008, when the switch guard came loose. At the time, I didn't know that this could be repaired. As a replacement, I got a pair of Touring Star GTXs, which made it all the way to India with me. They got new soles a few years ago, and now the shift guard has also come loose. Since yesterday, they have been on their way to Eggenfelden for repair. I've now bought another pair of VXR 16 Goretex, as I need something on my feet until the repair is finished... All the boots are superbly made and will last forever (I use the ones from 1992 for gardening, they haven't seen any maintenance since 2008 and are still waterproof today). The boots are also great for walking around in. So - unreserved recommendation, they really are worth every cent!
I just love these boots
I've been riding motorcycles for over 20 years now, starting with a 125cc bike and then switching to a Kawasaki GPZ 500s when I was 19. I soon realized that I needed better clothing and especially shoes. I tried on the Daytona Bandit xcr-gtx by chance at my trusted dealer and they felt fantastic. They were comfortable, looked great and were just right for me. I rode them very happily for a long time and smiled at everyone who told me that their feet hurt when they were on the road without a bike and stretched their legs. A few years passed and when I became a mother for the first time, I hung up my motorcycle clothing and put my boots to one side. I gave away and sold some of my motorcycle clothing after that, but I never wanted to give up my boots. After almost 10 years off the bike, the moment came and I had a bike again and my fingers were burning to ride again. My clothes were a bit tighter but I was fine to start with. I looked for my boots but unfortunately I couldn't find them. I thought I might have given them away after all. I bought a pair of half boots, but after just 2 weeks I realized how spoiled I was from before. I looked for new boots but nothing fitted or was comfortable or I didn't like the look. I had already made friends with the idea that I probably wouldn't be able to find boots that were within my budget. But then came the moment when my son came out of the cellar with a pair of strange boots, they were tarnished and he wanted to put them away. But I was really happy because they were my old Daytonas. I cleaned them, put some care on them and got them ready to go. And what can I say, it's the same feeling as before. They are absolutely comfortable, still waterproof and look timeless. I just love these boots.
Nothing else gets on my feet
My experiences range from extended vacations to Sardinia, Croatia, Italy, etc. ... in the heat as well as in the heaviest rain showers etc. ... always dry feet and no injuries to the feet in a rather violent accident. All with Daytona boots, of course!
Year-round driver, happy all round since 2007
2007, tour to South Tyrol, didn't want to spend so much money on boots, so I bought cheap ones. They were supposed to be waterproof. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. After the tour I immediately went to the dealer and bought the Daytonas (picture attached). I've been riding them since 2007 and am completely happy. They are also recommended in winter with 2 pairs of socks. I ride all year round. Today, after 3 hours of riding in the rain, I was shocked to find that my right sock was wet. As I can't order just one new boot, I immediately ordered a new pair. (no complaints, laugh, they have lasted well). I also cleaned them from time to time. Super quality, I can recommend them without reservation. I ride an Africa Twin. Greetings Robert
Best boots
In my opinion, Daytona is the best boot for this hobby. Comfort, durability and protection are the top priorities and they also look great. Mine have now been in use for 21 years and have seen a lot of countries and are still wearable. They have had no maintenance. :) I would always buy a Daytona.
To list all Daytona experiences there is not enough space here.
I have only driven Daytona shoes for years (AC4WD and Urban Master 2) and I had the best Daytona experiences in my almost 6 years as a Polo employee. In the beginning I sold the AC 4 WD very often until it was no longer offered in the program. The very positive and happy customer feedback always filled me with pride. I still advise my former regular customers on Daytona shoes today. I would be delighted if I could win this boot in size 41 to round off my Daytona portfolio. Happy Easter to you all. With kind regards Michael.
Only with the best
From Switzerland to the North Cape only with the best boots. With Daytona.
